ASCENT Pathway Navigator

Exploring your options honestly

Sophomore year is when you shift from "doing school" to actively designing your future. Pathway Navigator helps you research real options - not just what sounds good, but what the daily reality, earning potential, and requirements actually look like. Whether you're considering college, skilled trades, military service, or direct workforce entry, you'll develop the information and self-awareness to make choices that fit YOUR values and circumstances.

Career Pathway Planning

In-depth career exploration through assessments, research, and exposure to diverse fields. Students move beyond "I want to be a doctor" to understanding specific pathways, required preparation, and alignment with personal strengths and values. Career clarity drives  strategic academic and extracurricular choices.

College List Development

Preliminary college research and initial list-building. Students learn to evaluate schools based on academic programs, size, location, culture, and financial fit. Early exploration prevents junior-year scrambling and allows strategic campus visit planning for summer after 10th grade.

Academic Transcript Optimization

Strategic review of transcript strength and identification of gaps or opportunities. Students understand how colleges evaluate course rigor, plan junior-year schedules to maximize competitiveness, and address any weaknesses in academic profile before it's too late to correct.

PSAT Preparation & Strategy

Comprehensive PSAT preparation with focus on National Merit qualification strategies. Students learn test-taking techniques, content review, and score interpretation. PSAT performance informs junior-year SAT/ACT strategy and can unlock significant scholarship opportunities through National Merit recognition.

Leadership Development

Guidance on deepening extracurricular involvement and pursuing leadership roles. Students learn how to move from member to officer, initiate projects rather than just participate, and build the depth of engagement that colleges value over superficial participation in many activities.

Summer Planning Strategy

Guidance on selecting meaningful summer programs, internships, or experiences. Students learn to evaluate opportunities based on genuine interest rather than perceived prestige, understand how colleges view summer activities, and plan summers that build skills and demonstrate passion.
